Run your chama's pot on KFOS. Members contribute by M-Pesa, every contribution and withdrawal is visible to every member, and no single person can empty the pot.
You become the treasurer. Set a minimum contribution and how often it's due, and a joining fee if you want one.
Invite by phone number or share a join link. Each person accepts for themselves, so nobody is added to a money group without agreeing.
Members pay with an M-Pesa prompt on their phone. A payment counts only once Safaricom confirms it, and everyone sees it land.
The treasurer requests a withdrawal with a reason. A chairman or secretary approves it, or the whole group votes, before money leaves the pot.
Name a chairman and secretary, and every withdrawal needs one of them to approve it. Or switch the chama to member votes, so every payout waits for a majority.
Contributions, welfare payments, fines and withdrawals are listed for every member, with who paid, how much and when.
Your chama's balance sits in KFOS's customer trust account. It is never mixed with KFOS's own money or lent out by KFOS.
Set a late-contribution fine and KFOS charges it automatically for each missed cycle. Members can set a standing order so they never miss.
Elect or replace officers, approve payouts and settle any group question by vote, all inside the app.
Chamas are private by default. A public chama is listed for KFOS users to find, and an officer approves every request to join.
A mchango is a goal set aside inside your chama's pot, for example "School fees, KES 80,000 by June". Give it a target and a deadline, then share its link.
Friends and family open the link and pay by M-Pesa. They don't need a KFOS account. Members see each guest as a masked phone number.
Money given to a mchango stays there. The chama's general withdrawals can't touch it, and it's only paid out for that goal.
The link shows how much has been raised against the target, so givers know their money arrived.
A chama can lend to its own members from the pot. The group votes on the interest rate, and it can never go above 20%.
A chama can stand behind a member's KFOS credit, staking up to 50% of its free pot at once. A record of steady contributions also feeds your KFOS credit history.
Up to 15 members, with every feature on this page. No monthly charge.
KES 500 a month for unlimited members, paid by the treasurer.
Paying in is free. KFOS takes 1% of money paid out of the pot, and 10% of a joining fee if your chama charges one.
